We inspect before we quote
No phone-estimate guessing – we look at the actual panel and wiring first.
On-site inspection before pricing and a written quote before work starts, no matter where you're located – and pricing is based on the job, not the postal code.
We handle Electrical Safety Authority notification as part of the job when it's required.
We take on homes and business properties across the same service area.
Vanier was originally called Eastview, formed in 1908 from three smaller communities and incorporated as a city in 1963, remaining independent until Ottawa's 2001 amalgamation. It's one of Ottawa's smallest but most densely built areas, and it has long been the capital's main francophone neighbourhood, with a rich French-Canadian community history.
Vanier's age and density mean a lot of its housing predates modern electrical code by decades. We see genuine knob-and-tube and aluminum wiring here regularly, along with panels that were adequate for a much smaller household electrical load than what's normal today.
Wiring inspections ahead of an insurance renewal, panel upgrades, and general troubleshooting on older circuits are common here. We're also happy to work with French-speaking customers on-site.
Vanier's small geographic footprint packs in a lot of housing built close together, which changes how some electrical jobs are scoped compared to a spread-out suburb – shorter runs between properties, but often tighter access and older service infrastructure feeding a whole block at once. We plan work around those realities rather than applying a generic suburban approach to a distinctly urban, historic neighbourhood.
No phone-estimate guessing – we look at the actual panel and wiring first.
The price is confirmed before work starts.
Handled as part of the job when it's required.
We leave the site the way we found it.
It's more common here than in newer parts of Ottawa, given the neighbourhood's age – we can inspect and confirm what's in your specific home.
Yes, we're able to communicate in French or English on-site.
We'll move as quickly as scheduling allows, but a proper inspection comes first so the fix actually addresses what your insurer flagged.
We handle both single homes and multi-unit buildings, though multi-unit work sometimes involves coordinating with a building's property management or landlord first.
Vanier's identity as Ottawa's historic francophone heart hasn't disappeared even as the demographics have shifted over the decades – it's still a distinct, tightly-knit community, and we treat every job here with that in mind. Given the genuine age of much of the housing stock, a knob-and-tube or aluminum wiring inspection is often the right first call before any bigger renovation project or insurance renewal deadline forces the issue on you.
